For those connoisseur's who enjoy our indigenous botanical infusions, we have also included an organic Green Rooibos leaf tea infused with Hoodia and Buchu.

Organic Loose Leaf versus Bagged Leaf - A Cut Above the rest!

The significant difference between our bagged tea and our loose leaf teas is the way in which the leaves are cut before packaging. Both our bagged and loose teas are superior quality selects - by this we mean that unlike standard rooibos tea products, we remove only the young needle-like leaf tips from the stems of the rooibos plant before rough cutting prior to curing. Once cured, as with traditional teas, our tea is then graded depending on the type of cut selected. So essentially the rooibos that goes into our loose leaf tin caddies, is identical to the rooibos we use in our tea sachets - barring the type of final cut. We use a slower brewing 'medium cut' grade for our loose leaf teas and a 'fine cut' grade for our tea bags which helps speed up the brewing time required by 'instant' cup tea makers. Now those versed in the art of tea making, firmly maintain that a 'medium cut' leaf, retains more original goodness as the outer cell structure remains intact, which accounts for the slower brewing time. Our tea sachets contain finer cut leaves due to the fact that a tea bag is a convenience product and fine cut leaves allow for an optimal steeping result - within a shorter brewing time. When steeping Rooibos loose leaf teas, however, tea drinkers generally practice the longer brewing time tea ritual, in which case the more flavor-filled medium cut leaves give them their 'perfect cup of tea'.

A further distinction between our bagged - and loose leaf teas is the fact that, although all the Rooibos and herbs that are used in Suffuse™ products are grown under strictly controlled, sustainable organic farming methods with no fertilizers or toxic chemicals ever being used, only the limited yields kept aside for inclusion in organic green- and red Rooibos loose leaf tea caddies are certified to carry the Eco-Cert and USDA Organic stamp. Our Organic registration is controlled by the SGS code of good practice which extends throughout the production process from growing, to harvesting, to curing and grading as well as including all our packaging factory processes. Organic Green and Red Rooibos
