Hoodia
Hoodia Gordonii
Hoodia Gordonii is one of the rarest botanicals in the world and grows almost exclusively in South Africa. The active molecule isolated from this botanical which is known to suppress appetite is P57, which is 10,000 times as active as glucose. The chemical constituents work within the satiety center, fooling the brain into believing enough food has been consumed. It is this mechanism that makes Hoodia an effective appetite suppressant.
In both human and animal studies performed in double blind trials, Hoodia has shown impressive results as an appetite suppressant (C.S.I.R report. South Africa; Brown University Medical School Research Study; USA. Hoodia is also used for indigestion, hypertension, abdominal pain, stomachache and diabetes (P.D.R for Herbal Medicines; 4th Edition 2007; Rader, 11. et al. Anal. BioanaL Chern. 2007; March 28)
